Once again my name is out there! Aau in juniors or cadets is not the same as a usaw ALL AMERICAN! We are talking freestyle and greco not folkstyle. You are right thou I would rather have my child with a D1 all AMERICAN. And once again who are you to judge my opinion? I am just saying I do not care who kids wrestle for, just that they are doing it!!! I have heard And personally talked to parents who have left wrestling in their first couple years because some great all American coach left a bad taste in their mouth. Now who I call out on their credentials is my decision. Before you come at me, please get your facts straight. I earned my right with my blood, sweat, and tears. WHat have you done?

I might have never been the best wrestler, heck in the long run I might even be the worst coach ever. But my love and desire for this sport is unmatched that I promise. I want to teach, and sculpt young champions on and off mat. So on the subject on hand, I do not tell you something I am not. So i am done with this dumb conversation. And to you who called me a complainer or basically a baby, you are right. If standing up and saying don't lie makes me that then I take that title.

Mr. Sizemore, I would not have posted on here anything that were not true. I also would not get on here and bash my fellow colleagues, therefore I will not stoop to your level and dog you or your program since I know nothing about you. Will Rowe was a two Time Texas State Champion both in Collegiate and Freestyle. He was second at Senior Nationals losing to the champion by one point in 2004. He achieved All American status in both NHSCA and USA Wreestling Magazine in 2004. Will went on to wrestle at the University of Oklahoma from 2005 through 2009. Will was a two time team captain while at the University of Oklahoma. Will was a two time national qualifier while at the University of Oklahoma. Will is currently still training with Michael Lightner and other coaches at OU in hopes to compete at the world level. Will has been training kids over the past couple of years individually in Mustang and other programs. I have personnaly had him come to my school and hold camps. He is one of the best technicians I have ever been around. He does a great job relating to kids. Brod Farmer was a State Champion at the State of Washington in all three Collegiate and Freestyle and Greco. He received All American Status while wrestling in High School at Washington. Brod has been as asistant coach for me here at McLoud for the past season and has done a great job. THe kids really relate to his coaching styles. He has brought a lot to my program. Brod wrestled for the University of Oklahoma from 2004 to 2009 as well. He was the varsity Hwt while there. David Heath is a leader in the state as far as Greco Roman wrestling goes. His credintials will speak for themselves. I will put this coaching staff up against any in the state. But please keep in mind just because you are a coach or the coach does not mean anything. Some people get that title out of lack of other coaches not interested in that position. Hernandez, I too have seen James wrestle in years past, and have known who he was for quite a few years. Like James, I too have a love for Greco, as well as for implementing a strong Greco emphasis into my freestyle and folkstyle. The fact is, if James has been observant, he will rapidly figure out who this is, we will have a laugh about it, and he will take my post as advice and not criticism (as you can see by the post of Coach White, I was correct that the way he posted seemed directly derogitory). As far as your comments on style, I would be very careful with that statement and thought process. A style is very specific, related to how you wrestle. Should you choose to teach a specific style, with stringent guidelines, you would only be successful with wrestlers who had the exact natural abilities and body style to perform accordingly. You should teach wrestling in its simplest and purest form, and let the wrestlers individual style develop in them. Just words to ponder! Where people like James and I have an advantage...Greco is the simplest, most basic part of wrestling, and most people (coaches) have no knowledge of how to perform in it!

Most wrestlers have moves they like and will teach no matter what because they had success with it when they wrestled. When I said style maybe I should have said philosophy of wrestling. I think Oklahoma Kids have their own style of wrestling compared to lets say Maryland. I realize now that coaches that didnt wrestle still had to learn the art of wrestling.

Sorry me saying that there is a big difference between usa wrestling and aau hurt anyone's feelings. All I was saying was do not say you are a all American and if you do clarify what kind you are. Thank you for noticing I am only coach. Thank you coach al, now maybe all calls will come my way. Bottom line how cam you teach, coach, or instruct someone on how to become a champion or even what it takes to compete on a national level if you have never done it. Anyone can learn to wrestle but very few become champions. So to be the best you have to train, Amd be coached with the best. Look at edmond generals, the best partners, and by far best coaches. I have not calmed to be best coach or wrestler. And I have not put any coaches down. Every coach has something to offer. Some more then others. Just like when I wrestled I did not care if you liked me or not o still was a champion. Same way with my coaching don't care if you like me I just know I am coaching future champions on and off the mat. This is for the kids not me, I just want to give back to a sport that gave me a lot. Amd to local I do not think I know you. You can tell me that would be great.

OK. I need help with the kids schedule this year. Anyone wanting to host an AAU Tournament this summer let me know ASAP, and let's get some dates. The format will be old Freestyle bracketing (no 2 and out), wrestle Greco-Roman first, then Freestyle, then Folkstyle. It makes for a great day of wrestling and still goes fast. Let's get these young ones some experience, and then take them ALL to Nationals.

The statement only coaches that did that sport and were very good at it. are the best coaches. Wrong. Dont get me wrong that it helps alot if you played that sport but there are a lot of coaches that can coach and teach and get in the kids heart and help them be very succesfull. A good coach learns from good coaches and then teaches what he learns. It takes time for even the guys that played the sport to become great coaches. Just like the ones that didnt play and are coaching. Iam not a great teacher of wrestling. (never wrestled)but Iam a great teacher for kids and what i do no i share and what i dont i find out how to do it and then i can teach it as well as anyone.

The Girls State tournament was fun! Round Robin brackets, but some good wrestling all around. I want to thank USGWA for their leadership and Clinton Oklahoma for hosting. I think this was my first time in a long time in that part of the state. Anyway, hope to see more girls come out next year and participate.

In the most basic context, freestyle is much like folkstyle (with fewer limitations/rules) and you can also use all Greco moves within the rules. Greco-Roman is upper body only, and you are not allowed to tourch the legs of your Opponent, nor to use your legs for tripping, holding the opponent, etc.
