OKC Youth Wrestling Foundation Co-Founders Tyler Williams and Shelby Bullard FEATURED on ABC’s “Secret Millionaire”

OKLAHOMA CITY – The OKC Youth Wrestling Foundation’s co-founders, Tyler Williams and Shelby Bullard, were unsuspecting participants in ABC’s “Secret Millionaire” during the summer of 2011. Self-made millionaires and co-founders of the world’s fastest growing fitness club chain, Anytime Fitness, Chuck Runyon and Dave Mortensen, visited the one of the neighborhoods where the OKC Youth Wrestling Foundation reaches kids affected by poverty, rampant unemployment and homelessness. Runyon and Mortensen volunteered with the Foundation and other area non-profits, and they surprised Williams and Bullard with a sizable donation. The story will air on “Secret Millionaire” on Sunday, June 10 (7:00-8:00 p.m., CT) on The ABC Television Network.

Williams said his inclusion on the hit ABC television show “Secret Millionaire” came as a complete shock and answer to prayer. “I can’t share any details until after the show airs,” said Williams. “You’ll have to watch. It was awesome!”

Williams and Bullard began the OKC Wrestling Foundation in November 2008 as an expression of their Christian faith. The OKC Youth Wrestling Foundation seeks to use wrestling to build relationships between at-risk youth and caring role models. Character education is built into wrestling practices and a one-on-one mentoring program the Foundation sponsors. The goal is to influence each child’s behavior by teaching and modeling positive character traits.

More than 200 local at-risk youth have participated in the program since its inception in November 2008. Although sound athletic principles are taught, the focus of the Foundation’s leadership is on the boys’ behavior and character development. Through the combined efforts of the wrestling team, mentoring program, and church partners, the boys, their siblings, and families find the support they need to succeed in challenging environments.
