ENTRY FEES:  Entry fee is $15.00. Make check payable to OKWA, Central Region. Entry fees must be paid in full by Wed, February 6, 2007, before the seeding meeting.

 

SEEDING MEETING:  February 6, 2008 7:00 pm at Biltmore Hotel on Meridian in OKC

 

REGIONAL MEETING:  At the seeding meeting February 6, 2008

 

ADMISSION:  Tickets for admission are $3.00 for adults, $1.00 for students, 6 & under free.

 

WEIGH-IN:                     6:00 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. All divisions weigh-in at this time. Coaches and parents are not allowed in weigh-in rooms. All heavy weights will be weighed. All wrestlers must weigh-in in their singlet.  Hair and fingernail code will be enforced. The use of plastics in any form is prohibited and will result in disqualification from the tournament.

 

WRESTLING: Will start at 9:00 am until complete.

 

RULES:               OKWA and the National Federation rules will apply with the following exceptions:

·         No Riding Time

·         No 45 Minute Rest Between Matches

·         No Headgear Required

·         A No Show for a Match is Equivalent to a Loss

 

FORMAT:                    Double Elimination                    No challenges for second will be accepted

 

TIME PERIODS: 

                        6 & Under            All matches will be 3-one minute periods

 

                        8 - 10 - 12 - 15 & Under            All championship matches will be 3-one & one-half minute periods. All consolation matches will be 3-one minute periods

 

                        8 - 10 - 12 - 15 & Under            Championship & consolation finals will be 3-one & one-half minute periods

 

OVERTIME RULE:            All Divisions National Federation Rules Will Be Followed.

 

AWARD:      Metals will be presented for 1st through 6th place in each age group. Team award will be presented for 1st through 3rd in each age group. Team points will be given as follows:

* - Maximum weight of 275 pounds for all Divisions.

** - 2.0 pound growth allowance for Division V Wrestlers

 

STATE QUALIFIERS: Wrestlers placing 1st through 6th place will qualify for the OKWA State Tournament to be held February 15th and 16th at the OKC Fair Grounds Arena. State qualifiers must pay the $15.00 state entry fee by team check at conclusion of regionals to be entered in the State Tournament. Team coaches must be registered on the State Tournament Pass Registration Form.

 

ELIGIBILITY: Cut-off date for all divisions is September 1, 2007. Divisions I, II, III, and IV wrestlers must have a copy of their certificate of live birth on file and be listed on OKWA Member Club Roster Form 1B with the Regional Director, Carl Mize, PO Box 2205, Noble, OK 73068, phone (405) 872-9783. Division V wrestlers must have proof of eligibility if challenged. If age is protested and wrestler cannot show proof of age or grade he will be disqualified.
