Series Rules

The first, second, and next to last Series tournaments are worth an extra 2 points, so, the scoring shall be 12, 10, 8, and 6. .
The last Series tournament is worth 5 extra points, so, the scoring shall be 15, 13, 11, and 9. .
The normal points shall be 10,8,6, and 4.

Points scored shall go with the name for the first 3 Series tournaments. This will NOT be adjusted until Jan. 1 and weights are established.
This will allow a kid to get into shape and change weights. This would apply only to the TRUE age division, Not to a double entry division.
Points earned at a certain weight will stay at that weight AFTER THE FIRST THREE TOURNAMENTS.
Example: A kid is a little heavy and goes at 60 at the first two tournaments. He gets into shape and drops to 55. Any points earned at 60 would go with him to 55. The kid wrestles 55, but towards the end, he gets bigger and goes back to 60 or even 64. The first points earned at 60 would go with him to wherever, but the points at 55 were earned after the first 2 tournaments and would stay at 55. Almost like a certification date.
All this points consolidation is "basically" for tournaments wrestled before Jan 1. If a wrestler is at multiple tournaments at a weight, then goes to a different weight, then back to the original weight at the USJOC and doesn't wrestle after the USJOC, then it's at the discretion of the Series board but to simply wrestle one time at a weight should not require all points from the other weight to be brought to the one tournament in most instances. BUT, every case is different and will be handled on it's own merits.

Refer to the Bylaws (section 9) for more clarification on points to award. This takes precedence over anything printed here:

If a tournament awards six (6) places then 5 (fifth) will receive 3 points
Sixth (6) will receive 2 points (10,8,6,4,3,2).
The first and next-to-last SERIES tournament each season will be worth two (2) extra points per placement. (I.E. 12, 10, 8, 6).
The final SERIES tournament each season shall be worth five (5) extra points per placement (I.E. 15, 13, 11, 9)
During periods of holidays, additional points can be added to tournaments at the discretion of the Executive Board for the purpose of motivating wrestler participation.

Points earned at particular weight the first three (3) SERIES tournaments or tournaments with over 700 entry's (USJOC mainy) shall go with a wrestler's name if they change weights during the SERIES season. The purpose of this is to allow a wrestler to get into shape and change weight classes at the first of a SERIES season or drop a weight for the BIG tournaments. This is for a wrestler’s true age division, not a second double entry division.
9.2  WRESTLER OF THE WEEK – The Wrestler of the Week award is the decision of the SERIES tournament each week. This award shall be worth an additional five (5) SERIES points in addition to any other points earned at that SERIES tournament.
Series results would have to be posted by Tuesday following the tournament, and payment sent within 2 weeks (the money is collected so there is no reason for a delay)
Failure to get the money in on time would exclude that tournament from the Series the following year.
We Had a situation that is new to me, BUT, here is the decision:
If a wrestler is Disqualified FROM THE TOURNAMENT (this is the Referee's decision), then that wrestler will NOT receive any Series points for that weight.
If they are disqualified from THAT MATCH, then it will be treated as a LOSS and they will continue and will score any points that they win.
Every Series tournament would need to have on file with me:
1. Name of the club sponsoring the tournament.
2. At Least two contact names and phone numbers.
3. Location of the tournament
4. Number of members that would work the tournament (weigh in, tables, and concession)
5. Series chairman and board members would have to agree on any club joining the Series. (simple majority would be sufficient)
The Series is open to any wrestler from any location, as long as they attend the tournaments and place, they get the points
